With over 50 years of real world work experience and Science Technology Engineering & Math (STEM) teaching experience, the instructors at MyCompTeacher.Com (MCT) are both well prepared and passionate with sharing what they know with young learners. In addition to their classroom teaching each MCT instructor has over 10 years of engaging students in an online teaching environment.
Due to the challenges of COVID19, MCT has pretty much discontinued its Face-2-Face courses now focusing exclusively on online / remote, instructor led courses. So how do our online courses work?
To start, using your home computer and the high speed Internet connection at home, students are able to connect with both the instructor and other students in our virtual classrooms. To provide the best learning experience we recommend using either an integrated PC camera or a separate camera typically attached via one of your computer’s USB ports. This will allow the instructor and other students to see and interact with your child.
Using the very popular cloud based application ZOOM, instructors and students are then able to meet in one of our virtual classrooms. Once connected to the classroom, the instructor and students can both see and hear one another just like a normal bricks and mortar classroom except without physical contact. This literally guarantees a safe learning environment!
While courses may vary, all MCT courses offer instructor led teaching, hands-on exercises, on-demand videos of both the instructor’s presentations and supplemental information, which can be re-played as often as desired.
Similar to our Face-2-Face courses, MCT instructors, use differentiated teaching techniques which allows them to focus on the unique learning style for each of our individual students. Classes sizes are also limited to around 10 students, again helping to ensure that students get sufficient student-instructor interaction, as well as student-student interaction.
MCT STEM courses help our students to develop their Higher-Thinking Skills. Through our hands-on labs and projects, students learn to build upon skills and techniques, and then build upons those concepts to create more complex problem solutions.
